I'm taking Canteen's Five Peaks Virtual Challenge...
…a month-long challenge to cover 68km in March - the combined trail distance of Australia’s five highest peaks.
Every year, 23,000 young Australians face the mountain that is a cancer journey. Whether facing their own cancer diagnosis, or dealing with a loved one’s cancer journey, climbing that peak means feeling isolated, lost, exhausted, and confused.
It’s terrifying, and no one should face it alone. Too many amazing young people that I know have had to deal with their own diagnosis, including recently the incredibly brave Sarah! Not only did she have to deal with this herself, but her young brother had to watch her go through all the emotions, side effects etc.
Please sponsor me today and make every km count! All funds raised will help young people, facing their hardest climb, get free access to Canteen’s cancer counselling, peer support and specialised in-hospital care.

Sunday 9th Mar I’ve increased my goal because I know we can smash this!! I’ve walked 15km more over the last 2 days! Whilst the next few days have less hikes, they do have more wineries and distilleries, so I should still be able to get quite a few more kms in!
Update 1
Thursday 6th Mar Well, arrived in Tassie late Monday, so not too much walking. Tuesday was a big driving day from Hobart to Strahan, but managed to get a few walks in along the way - quite a number of waterfalls to see apparently 😱 Wednesday was a steam train through the rainforest, so I did a walk around the harbour when I got back to get those kms up! Today was a river cruise with a walk around Sarah Island (ironic) and another trek thru the rainforest here. So, I have achieved so far 13kms 👍🏻Thank you to my Sponsors
