I'm taking Canteen's Five Peaks Virtual Challenge...

…a month-long challenge to cover 68km in March - the combined trail distance of Australia’s five highest peaks.

Every year, 23,000 young Australians face the mountain that is a cancer journey. Whether facing their own cancer diagnosis, or dealing with a loved one’s cancer journey, climbing that peak means feeling isolated, lost, exhausted, and confused.

It’s terrifying, and no one should face it alone. That’s why I’m challenging myself and I need your support!

Please sponsor me today and make every km count! All funds raised will help young people, facing their hardest climb, get free access to Canteen’s cancer counselling, peer support and specialised in-hospital care.

This challenge is extra special for me this year as I recently lost my dearest friend Chrissie Ann. I would climb all the mountains for her and this is my way to keep her memory alive.

I'm doing this for Chrissie Ann

Last year my dearest friend Chrissie Ann died from cancer and my world was shattered.

I'm an adult dealing with grief and the loss of someone who was a massive part of my life and I crumbled.

I was given some sage advice on dealing with grief and I read this daily until I didn't need to and now just read it every now and then when the hurt hits. 


"But you just do enough to get by and you’ll catch up in due time. You let yourself try to begin to knit some sort of web back when you are ready. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit in nowhere land for a minute. You lost a dear dear friend. It’s going to take its time and space and pain."


Now how does a child deal with the loss of a friend?

I hope by doing this challenge it will help a tween, teen or young adult get the help they so desperately need when overcoming grief. 

It's a hard one and they should not go at it alone.
